UCP of Maine’s Life without Limits Gala Raises over $8,000
UCP of Maine’s first annual Life without Limits Gala was held on May 6th, 2011 at Hollywood Slots Hotel & Raceway. Guests enjoyed both a live and silent auction, entertainment, dinner and the opportunity to experience Hollywood Slot’s beautiful venue.
This event would not have been possible without in-kind donations and the generous support of our community. The event space, staff and all the food for the evening was graciously donated by Hollywood Slots Hotel & Raceway, while comedians Adam Hatch and Erik Gundersen donated their time to provide the evening’s entertainment.
“Hollywood Slots is proud to partner with Bangor-area organizations such as UCP to help raise funds for very worthwhile causes in the community,” said Hollywood Slots Hotel & Raceway General Manager, John Osborne. “The work being done by UCP is invaluable to people in this area, giving those with disabilities new opportunities to conquer difficult challenges and meet their own goals and expectations. It was a successful night with a good amount of money being raised and a good time had by all. Hollywood Slots is very proud to have been a part of it.”
All proceeds raised at the event go directly to UCP of Maine to assist children and adults with disabilities in the community. As the areas only Disability Resource Network and 2010 Agency of Distinction Award Winner, UCP supports children and adults with autism, mental illness, attention deficit disorder, spina bifida, Down syndrome and so much more. “We are so grateful for Hollywood Slots and our continued partnership with them over the last eight years; because of their commitment to UCP of Maine and our mission, we were able to host an exciting and elegant event to showcase and raise funds for our important work, said Tish Pendergast, UCP of Maine’s Resource Development Coordinator. “UCP would like to applaud Hollywood Slots for their commendable loyalty to the Bangor community.”
